Department of Traditional and Local Government Affairs (Vote 11) - Resolution 46/2004 – Qadi Development Finance Committee loans

Noting: Resolution 106/2003 of the Public Accounts Committee and the fact that the Provincial Treasury has not finalized the investigation into this matter and;

Item 3.3 of the report of the Auditor-General on the 2003/2004 financial statements of the Traditional Levies and Trust Accounts, which states that no documentation could be supplied to audit in support of loans to the valued of R46 917 disclosed under current assets in the annual financial statements and as a result there is uncertainty as to the existence and accuracy of the disclosure of these loans;

The House resolves:

1. That the final report on the investigation by the Provincial Treasury into the absence of supporting documentation for the Qadi Development Finance Committee loans be made available to the Public Accounts Committee as soon as it is released.


2. That the Acting Accounting Officer of the Department of Traditional and Local Government Affairs follow up on this matter with Provincial Treasury.
