VOTE 14 – PUBLIC WORKS (2001/2002)

1. Noting:



in the report of the Auditor-General on the financial statements of Vote 14 – Public Works for 2001/2002, the moratorium by the Department of Education and Culture on the alienation of vacant land,

The Committee resolves:

to request the MEC for Education and Culture by no later than 31 May 2003 to provide a report:

1. justifying the Department’s moratorium on the alienation of vacant state land not utilised by the Department
2. detailing what urgent action would be taken to lift such moratorium.
