Department of Health (Vote 7) - Resolution 10/2004 - TB Programme
Noting: Item 4.5 and 5.4 of the report of the Auditor-General on performance audit of the management of primary health care,
The House resolves:
1. That the Health Portfolio Committee monitors key performance indicators for the following issues regarding the TB Programme, in order to improve efficiency, effectiveness and value for money:
* Sputum analysis turnaround time to be no more than 48 hours.
* Improvement in the percentage of TB treatment interruptions.
* Decrease in percentage of people on multi-drug resistant TB treatment.
* Design and maintenance of an adequate record keeping system to monitor treatment of TB.
2. That the Accounting Officer of the Department of Health report to the Public Accounts Committee and the Health Portfolio Committee by 30 April 2005 on progress made with regard to the above matters.
