Department of Agriculture & Environmental Affairs (Vote 3) – Resolution 13/2004: Annual Financial Statements

Noting: Item 4.1 of the report of the Auditor-General, which states that the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2004 were not submitted within two months after the end of the financial year and were only received by the Auditor-General on 22 June 2004;

The House resolves:

That the Accounting Officer of the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs report to the Public Accounts Committee by 30 November 2004 on the reasons for the late submission of the 2003/2004 financial statements of the department to the Auditor-General and the resultant contravention of Section 40(1)(c) of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999).
