Department of Agriculture & Environmental Affairs (Vote 3) – Resolution 15/2004: Suspense Accounts

Noting: Item 4.5 of the report of the Auditor-General, which states that the suspense accounts were not cleared as required by Treasury Regulation 17.1.2(b) and;

That the department had made significant progress in clearing the majority of the suspense accounts;

The House resolves:

That the Accounting Officer of the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs report to the Public Accounts Committee by 31 January 2005 on the reasons for the contravention of Treasury Regulation 17.1.2(b) in the non-clearance of suspense accounts at year end and the progress made by the department in resolving this problem.
