Department of Health (Vote 7) - Resolution 2/2004 – Cheque payments
Noting: Resolution 64/2003 of the Public Accounts Committee and Item 4.8 of the report of the Auditor-General and;
That there were still cases where the Department generated cheques in respect of amounts exceeding the R2000 threshold in contravention of Treasury Regulation 15.12.3 and further that this anomaly has been attributed to the use of codes for FMS, which the Department has since stopped using;
The House resolves:
1. That the Accounting Officer of the Department of Health report to the Public Accounts Committee by 30 November 2004 indicating the status of these occurrences as from the period of transfer to BAS.
2. That the Health Portfolio Committee also monitors this problem.
