Department of Economic Development (Vote 4) - Resolution 26/2004 – Telephone expenses not recovered
Noting: Item 4.5 of the report of the Auditor-General, which states that the telephone management system installed by the department did not function as intended and hence all costs relating to the private usage of the department’s telephone facilities were not recovered, and
The response of the department that steps were being taken to recover more of the cost of private telephone calls;
The House resolves:
That the Accounting Officer of the Department of Economic Development submits a report to the Public Accounts Committee by 31 January 2005 on the progress made in the implementation of the telephone management system in the department and the extent to which the cost of private calls made by employees was being recovered.
