Department of Works (Vote 14) - Resolution 61/2004 – Outstanding matters from prior year’s audit
Noting: Item 5.6.13 of the report of the Auditor-General, which states that aspects reported on in the 2002/2003 audit report under paragraphs 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.1.1, 4.2.1.4, 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3 have to date not been satisfactorily replied to/and or resolved. The fruitless and wasteful expenditure of R716 000 carried forward from prior years has not been authorized as at 31 March 2004;
The House resolves:
That the Acting Accounting Officer of the Department of Works continue to monitor the outstanding matters from prior year’s audit reports and report to the Public Accounts Committee and the Auditor-General on progress by 15 January 2005 and on a quarterly basis thereafter.
