Provincial Legislature (Vote 2) – Resolution 98/2004 – Bank and Cash

Noting: Item 2.30 of the final management letter from the Auditor-General;

The House resolves:

1. That the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee write to the Accounting Officer of the Provincial Treasury to convey the concern of the committee regarding the manner in which the change over from First National Bank (FNB) to ABSA by the Legislature was done and the fact that interest amounting to R31 009, 10 was lost due to the delay in transferring the funds from FNB to ABSA.


2. That, by 15 January 2005, the Acting Accounting Officer of the Provincial Legislature provide the Public Accounts Committee with copies of the correspondence between the Legislature, FNB and ABSA regarding the change over.
