For the purposes of this resolution, unauthorised expenditure means overspending of a vote or a main division within a vote. The Committee satisfied itself that in all the following cases sufficient reasons were provided for the over-expenditure.
The following sections of the Auditor-General's reports dealing with unauthorised expenditure were considered:
Vote Department Paragraph Amount Vote 2 Provincial Parliament 2.2.1(a) R 392 890-05 Vote 12 Transport 2.2.1(a) R 3 217 111-69 Vote 13 Welfare and Population Development 2.2.1(a) R 90 351 228-86 Vote 14 Works 2.2.1(a) R 6 735 438,11 Total R 100 696 668-71
The Committee heard and considered evidence and determined that the above amounts were unauthorised, then recommends that they be authorised by the Provincial Legislature.
The reasons for the unauthorised expenditure are summarised in note 7 to the respective appropriation accounts as contained in the Auditor-General's Reports.
