VOTE 4 - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM (2001/2002)

1. Noting:
in the report of the Auditor-General on the financial statements of Vote 4 – Economic Development and Tourism for 2001/2002, that there appears to be a difference of opinion between the Auditor-General's office and the Provincial Treasury regarding the interpretation of "a Public entity" as defined in chapter 1 of the PublicFinance Management Act (PFMA) with regards to the KwaZulu-Natal Business Rehabilitation Trust Fund.
The Committee Resolves:
for Provincial Treasury to provide a report to the Committee by 31 May 2003 regarding their position as set out in the attached letter from Professor Kusi on behalf of Treasury dated 12 October 2001.
